Carpal tunnel is the compression of the median nerve at the wrist, it can causes thickening of the sheath and transverse carpal ligament. It is due to repetitive actions and will come on gradually. Things such as excessive wrist extension and flexion, numbness, tingling on the radial side of the hand from the ring finger, pain or waking at night, clumsiness or weakness in hand all can affect carpal tunnel. If you have carpal tunnel you can continue activities, but may have to alter slightly so that you don't increase the pain. It's important to avoid heavy manual work for about 2 months. Myotherapy is a therapy that can assist in relieving the pain and improve movement.
